Abstract

The presentation will both define "qualified interpreter" as it applies to the postsecondary setting and provide a model for recruitment, interview and assessment of potential service providers and staff interpreters. Other questions to be addressed include: Is the educational institution meeting the ADA requirements by hiring someone who can sign, but not interpret? How does reasonable accommodation fit into the picture?
