Map It: What Comes Next

Did you ever wish you had a map to help your students navigate their way toward personal awareness and independence?  Are you tired of using tools that were developed for students without hearing loss?  Are you ready for materials designed with YOUR students in mind?  Check out Map It: What Comes Next? —the newest transition training from pn2.

Map It: What Comes Next

What is it?

Map It Student holds a globe

Map It: What Comes Next? is a new online training program focusing on transition, designed to be interactive and engaging for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. The training guides students through these three fundamental questions:

  • Who Am I?
  • What Do I Want?
  • How Do I Get There?

Video vignettes in this interactive training feature students who are deaf and hard of hearing gaining self-awareness by applying real-life scenarios to WHO they areWHAT they want, and HOW do they get it.  Students engaged in Map It will:

  • Complete a variety of assessments with interactive questions further helping them on their journey
  • Take steps to identify their goals and develop strategies to achieve them
  • Increase personal awareness and develop self-determination skills through questions and activities.

Map It Students: Who am I? What do I want? How do I get there? All videos are signed in ASL, with spoken English, and captions provided. Map It: What Comes Next? can be done in as short a time period as one week, or can be spread out over a semester.  As students go through the training, they will take interest inventories and personality screenings. All the assessments can be saved in an online portfolio.
