You may need to work with your IT to get a supported browser installed
to replace your current browser that is becoming obsolute.

I have recently been copied on several emails from the agency who provides interpreters for a VR-funded student, saying that the assigned interpreter is sick and they have been unable to locate a substitute. I would love some ideas on what I can do before or after the class to make the class as accessible as possible for the student in such situations. Thanks! | ||||

Dorothy: Your posting actually led me to thinking more questions than answer right now. smile. First of all: are the student's interpreters being funded and/or arranged by VR? It would be incumbent on the provider of the interpreter (agency, DSS office, etc.) to find substitutes. If that entity is "unable to locate" a sub, have they considered using Virtual Remote Interpreters in the classroom? Several universities that we know of use this when the interpreter pool is limited and subs cannot be easily found. Let us know more about your specific situation and we will hopefully be able to provide more specific resources.

VR pays for the students interpreters, and they use an agency who does the scheduling. I find your comment somewhat reassuring that the inability to find a sub is not my responsibility. However, I still would like some ideas on how to help the student.
