**For universities who use volunteer-only note-taker systems***

What do you do when there are no volunteer student note-takers in a particular course? I am asking from a perspective of paid note-takers not being an option.

Sometimes the instructor will ask the teaching assistant(s) in class to assist, or sent out an email to the class list asking for volunteers. If you cannot pay them, maybe offer a gift certificate to the campus bookstore or food services.

Do all of your notetakers go through pepnet's free online orientation on this website? Here's the link to the training: http://www.pepnet.org/e-learning/notetaker

Our campus has different organizations, such as honor student programs, which require students to do a certain amount of volunteer hours each semester. We usually contact their advisor asking for their assistance in finding us someone.
