A few ideas from pepnet 2:

You could also take a look at our online transition module called iTransition. This is an excellent tool in helping students learn about the transition to postsecondary. You can access that by going to www.pepnet.org/iTransition.
Also have the student try a Google search for other scholarships. This sometimes will bring up some great results.

and a few more:
Some financial assistance may be available (if certain criteria is met) from your state VR/DORS (vocational rehabilitation/rehabilitation services). Each state has a VR/DORS office. For a list, see http://nichcy.org/state-organization-search-by-state
Sometimes students are eligible for financial assistance in the form of SSI (Social Security Income).

If the student is not 18, his family can apply for benefits for him. If he is 18, he can apply for adult benefits on his own.

Do you know if individual states may have their own scholarship programs or grants for D/HH students?
Reply to briehl
In PA there is a $500 grant available to any eligible deaf/HOH or Blind student through the Dept. Of Ed, Special Education for college students. I'd be glad to share the application form. This is not publicized as well as it could be in my opinion.
Another source of scholarships and grants, many to those who are deaf or HOW is http://www.proyectovision.net/english/resources/index.html

Thanks so much for the link! I just found that Wisconsin has the Higher Education grant for students with vision and hearing loss: http://www.heab.state.wi.us/programs.html

Have you contacted your state VR agency yet (vocational rehabilitation)? VR sometimes helps deaf and hard of hearing students with college or career education. The link for Florida's VR is http://www.rehabworks.org/
Thanks!
