PEPNet's College Guide Available Online
Submitted by the PEPNet College Guide Workgroup
The PEPNet College Guide, an online version of College and University Programs for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students, is now available. The College Guide joins other online resources that help students, parents, and guidance counselors search the locations, majors, and access services of hundreds of colleges in the United States. Only the College Guide, however, lists postsecondary institutions with known programs serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Institutions listed in the Guide participated in a national survey of programs serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Some of these institutions may not have a program specifically for deaf and hard of hearing students, but all provide support/accessibility services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Because the Guide presents information self-reported by the programs, editors cannot assume responsibility for the accuracy of the information.
For more than 30 years, Gallaudet University and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID), a college of Rochester Institute of Technology, collaborated on College and University Programs for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students as a public service. In 2008, responsibility for the project, which is updated every two to three years, shifted to PEPNet. Previous Guides have been published in booklet form and the twelfth printed edition is available from LuLu online publishing at:
www.lulu.com/pepnet
PEPNet also now offers an online version-renamed the PEPNet College Guide- to make the information accessible to a broader range of users. View the Guide at:

PEPNet will update the Guide in 2009 by surveying postsecondary programs that provide support and accessibility services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. To add your school to the Guide, send a request via email to:
pepnet@pepnet.org
We'll send you a link to an online questionnaire about access services your school provides. We hope to add your school to PEPNet's College Guide.
