This tipsheet is one in a series of publications that addresses services provided to students who are hard of hearing. It offers suggestions for identifying students who do not know that their hearing loss can affect them academically, socially, and emotionally. A four-stage framework is described for understanding a student's readiness for accepting help and suggested interventions to facilitate the student's acceptance of hearing loss. These interventions also offer a broad perspective beyond high school that can be extrapolated to postsecondary students by college service personnel. (2009)

Pepnet 2 has been my "Go To" resource for many years while coordinating services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This can feel very isolating and our responsibilities are so unique, but with pepnet 2, I never feel like I'm alone. I'm very thankful for the funding that supports pepnet 2, which supports the rest of us.
