Tandberg is a powerful, high-performance videoconferencing system widely used in business and education. Tandberg requires a substantial investment in hardware and software.
Tandberg accommodates a wide range of educational programming and meetings. Participants can share documents, drawings, movies, and other information. With Tandberg, users can record, archive and provide podcasts of lectures, presentations and projects.
Movi is the screen-sharing software for Tandberg that enables users to connect into Tandberg's videoconferencing and other features from any PC or Mac. Thousands of users, each with a USB camera, can connect from public spaces or remote offices via Movi.
Here are some of the access features and considerations for using Tandberg that were discussed at PEPNet's Think Tank-2:
- There is no Line 21 captioning.
- Movi, the screen-sharing/desktop-sharing application, is used by the remote captioner.
- Captioning differs from the process used in broadcast television captioning.
- Firewalls within the systems of distance users can affect accessibility.
